The threat of terrorism in our region

It is important to note that the ISA is not only important in detaining a person but it enables the authorities to hold him/her for further investigation, fact finding and interrogation. Information gathered can be used by our intelligence team to further act upon other threats that may arise in the future.

Our close neighbour, Indonesia does not have the Internal Security Act. They cannot act upon tip offs, or detain a person as a preventive measure. And with dire consequences, as we all know that this region has become a hub for Al Qaeda's splinter group Jemaah Islamiyah. Indonesia has been paying the price for this, which we feel could have been avoided if they had something similar to Malaysia's Internal Security Act.

As you can see above, in this region the threat by certain forces to undermine Islam is very real. Jemaah Islamiyah is one example of this threat. They deviated from Islam the day they chose to kill innocent lives. Look again at the list above. All of this attacks are linked to JI. Some of them have been detained, some executed while the rest still walks amongst us recruiting, brainwashing and planning their next move. Right at our doorsteps

Those uninformed will not realise the real threat that this splinter group of Al Qaeda actually poses to countries in this region. As mentioned before , 10 out of 17 of the current detainees under the ISA are Jemaah Islamiyah members.

Abolish ISA? release them? Hell no! not when Islam is being threatened like this! We will never leave Islam volatile and to be swayed into oblivion. No to abolishing the ISA! No to setting the detainees free!

what a bunch of pathetic fucks. One day may you be held against your wishes, with no sentencing, with no end in sight.

Infact, I suspect YOU are a terrorist, so lets put you up in eternal jaildom.

Dear Anonymous,

Thank you for the comment.

We from YES2ISA hope that you do not behave in such a provocational manner come Saturday 1st August, as word on the ground is that the Pro ISA supporters will outnumber you and they have been bottling up alot of anger for quite some time now.
We do not want any incidences to happen under such circumstances now would we?

ISA days are outnumbered. ISA was created by the British because they couldn't tell a good coloured person from another. If you used it on suspected terrorist, you should have the proof that he is one. Nowadays the ISA is used on people who have different political views than that of the ruling parties. Only people who are very weak minded and can't fight words with words use the ISA to silence their critics.

Dear robinlabu,

how do you proof one is a suicide bomber before he commits the crime?

when he does, it would be too late because ;

1) He would have killed many
2) It would be hard to charge someone who has just blown himself into a million pieces

Thank you

Yes2ISA, I wonder whether you will still feel the same if you or one of your family members is detained under ISA for being a SUSPECTED terrorist.

Dear Anonymous,

If one does nothing wrong, one does not have to fear ones shadow.

Thank you

Dear Yes2ISA,

Are you implying that if you have done nothing wrong, you will not be suspected of committing crimes?

Are you implying that all suspects in the world have done wrong?

A personal question for you: Have you ever been suspected of anything? Have the suspicion always been the truth?

since you support ISA, I wonder how you would feel if you are detained under ISA tomorrow for being a threat to national security.

Also, can you justify that the ISA has NOT been used for political reasons. I had my facts checked..hope u have to.

Dear Anonymous @ 1.43pm

If one has not done anything wrong, he will be released afer investigation. That is a small price to pay and a small sacrifice for the sake of our nation.

Look at the latest posting on the Patriots Act. Even USA has learned a bitter lesson and they have now approved a law that is similar to the ISA. With a facility in Guantanamo bay that dwarfs Kemunting.

At least in Malaysia, suspects will be detained and then released once they are found to be innocent. Or would you rather we took preventive measures such as this ;

You asked ;
"I wonder how you would feel if you are detained under ISA tomorrow for being a threat to national security"

I wonder too how you would feel if your family was blown to bits while having lunch at KLCC and then finding out that your government was helpless in taking preventive measures to avoid it?

Then you asked

can you justify that the ISA has NOT been used for political reasons.I had my facts checked..hope u have to.

Read our latest posting here

Also, if you had checked your fact, you would know that a number of UMNO/ BN politicians were also detained by the ISA over the years. But i bet you didnt want to see that. Somehow facts like this are conviniently filtered out by those bent on politicising the ISA.

Thank you

Yes2ISA,

Who are the ones who will determine whether you are innocent?

Your comparison between the USA's Patriots Act and ISA is flawed. The ISA is a misused tool that has been and will be used against political oppositions. I do not see oppositions being jailed by the Patriots Act.

Yes2ISA said...

Dear Jim,

ISA is to detain a person. He will still be investigated by the various agencies and evidence still needs to be collected and presented.

As for your accusation towards my flawed reasoning, well.. i do not see any political oppositions in our ISA too...
